POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist women's volleyball squad dropped two matches on day two of the Marist Red Fox Classic on Saturday. Wagner topped the Foxes 3-0 by scores of 27-30, 27-30 and 30-32, while Central Connecticut needed five games to pull out the win by scores of 30-27, 30-27, 16-30, 12-30 and 11-15. Junior Christy Lukes (Mesa, Ariz.) was named to the All-Tournament Team for her performance during the two day event.
Against Wagner senior Jaime Kenworthy (Aston, Pa.) led the Foxes with 10 kills, while Lukes and freshman Alexandra Schultze (Austin, Texas) each posted seven. Freshman setter Dawn Jan (Belleville, N.J.) finished up the match with 26 assists and Kenworthy and classmate Stefanie Miksch (Austin, Texas) led the way defensively with 14 and 12 digs, respectively.
In the second match of the day the Red Foxes came out storming as they posted wins in the first two games against Central Connecticut by scores of 30-27 and 30-27. The Blue Devils proved to be too much however, as they posted wins in the final three games to take the  match 3-2. CCSU was led by Brynn Good who posted a triple-double with 12 kills, 42 assists and 17 digs.
CCSU featured a balanced attack which saw four players record double digit kills and five players post double figures in digs.
The Red Foxes were led by three players who posted double-figure digs led by Kenworhty with 14. Lukes and Schultze followed with 11 and 12. Jan was again solid as she recorded a career high 46 assists. On the defensive side, Schultze led the way with 18 digs  and was followed by Kenworthy with 14 and Miksch with 13.
Following the match the seven top players of the tournament were announced as part of the Red Fox Classic All-Tournament Team. Brynn Good, of CCSU led the All-Tournament Team with MVP honors; she was joined on the team by teammates Amanda Olmstead and Ashlee Gonzales. Colgate had two players named to the squad, Jackie Adlam and Katrina Zawojski, while Lukes and Wagner's Trish Morris rounded out the squad.
With the two losses on Saturday, Marist falls to 0-7 on the season. The Foxes will return to the court on Friday, September 8 for the first day of the Marist Invitational.
