Marist Head Coach Brian Giorgis:
Opening statement:
"Life would be great if every game started like this. I don't think we could start much better. I think a couple things happened early. One, we established our inside presence. We got the ball into Meg (Dahlman), who hit some big shots; Rachele (Fitz) hit some big shots, then Julianne (Viani) hit two threes right off the bat. Nikki (Flores) hit jumpers, and it just started to snowball. Then down at the other end, I thought we did a very nice job of contesting shots and ... limiting them to one shot so we could get out and run."
On if his team played as well as it could have:
"I think in the first half, we put it together extremely well. I think if we could do that against everybody, we'd be extremely difficult to beat."
Marist red-shirt junior center Meg Dahlman:
On the open looks she was getting:
"Nikki (Flores) played amazing, and I don't even know how many assists she had, but it felt like a million. She was just finding the open man, and that's what she does."
Marist junior guard Nikki Flores:
On if the team was having fun in Sunday's game:
"We always have fun. ... We always try to go out there and have fun because the more you're uptight and the more you're energetic, the worse you come out. I was trying to find Meg (Dahlman) and Rachele (Fitz) down low, and when Lynzee (Johnson) came in, I tried to find her too."
On if she enjoys scoring more:
"It's nice to score, but it's also nice to get other people involved as a point guard. Next year with (Alisa) Kresge gone, I'm going to have to run the show. Scoring is great, but also I'm going to have to pass the ball and find the open kid."
Marist red-shirt sophomore guard Julianne Viani
On what she did between Friday's and Sunday's games:
"I went in last night shot for a while; that helped out a little bit. I tried to hit some shots to try and get my confidence back, because when you're not hitting some shots, sometimes you lose confidence."
