Marist Drops 3-1 Match to Canisius

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist volleyball team fell to 2-5 in MAAC play Saturday night, losing to Canisius 3-1 (30-19. 29-31, 30-21, 30-24) at the McCann Center. Sophomore setter Dawn Jan (Belleville, N.J.) had 53 assists, helping four Marist players reach double-digit kills. Marist is now 6-13 on the season.

Sophomore outside hitter Alexandra Schultze (Austin, Tex.) led all players with 19 kills. Freshman Emily Brosky (Whitehall, Pa.) led the Red Foxes with 15 digs.

Canisius took control of game one early, and hit .391 to win 30-19. The Red Foxes and Golden Griffins would trade points early and often in game two, with Marist taking their final lead at 30-29 to win 31-29. In games three and four, Canisius would take over, hitting .321 in game three and .425 in game four to seal the match win.

Michella Domo led the Golden Griffins with 18 kills, hitting .567 with a match-high four blocks. Lauren Lackovich added 30 assists, and libero Jess Stackhouse led all players with 24 digs. Canisius, with the win, is now 6-12, 4-3 in the MAAC.

Marist will close out their current homestand Sunday afternoon with a 2 p.m. match against Niagara at the McCann Center.
