Marist's Godly, Strange Win Match But Fall In Doubles Final At Georgetown Classic

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist women's tennis team won every set en route to a 7-0 victory over Rider on Friday in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest at Marist Tennis Pavilion. The Red Foxes were led by junior Erin Godly (Little Silver, N.J.), who earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles over Danielle Morse.

In all, Marist dropped a total of just 12 games in the entire match. The Red Foxes improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the MAAC with their fifth consecutive victory.

Marist will return to action on Sunday, when the Red Foxes host Loyola at 9 a.m. at Marist Tennis Pavilion. The match, which was originally scheduled for 10 a.m. Sunday, will be held concurrently with the Marist men's team's match against the Greyhounds.
