NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - The Marist women's tennis team won its 22nd consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season match on Sunday, earning a 5-2 win at Niagara. With the victory, the Red Foxes completed their conference slate with a perfect 7-0 record for the third consecutive season.
Marist was victorious in four of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Christine Ong (Tarzana, Calif.) earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at first singles for the Red Foxes, and Cassie Strange (Valencia, Calif.) won 6-4, 6-2 at second singles. Erin Godly (Little Silver, N.J.) posted a 6-0, 6-2 win at third singles, and Alexa Strange (Valencia, Calif.) earned an 8-4 triumph at second doubles.
With the win, the Red Foxes improved to 10-1 overall while handing the Purple Eagles their first conference loss of the season.
