Le Moyne Bats Prove Too Strong For Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-The Le Moyne baseball team smacked 13 hits Sunday to power its way to a 12-6 victory over homestanding Marist. The Dolphins improved to 20-15 overall and 14-2 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, while Marist dropped to 11-25 overall and 7-10 in the league.

 

Le Moyne got three hits from third baseman Stephen Crawford and two hits from right fielder Ben Gaal and first baseman Corey O'Neill, while second baseman Matt Nandin had three RBIs.

 

Marist senior center fielder Travis Musolf (Manchester, N.J.) and senior third baseman Pat Feeney (New City, N.Y.) had two RBIs apiece, while sophomore left fielder Max Most (Port Washington, N.Y.) scored two runs.

 

Le Moyne pitcher Luke Nellis (3-1) picked up the victory, tossing five innings and allowing five hits, four runs and five strikeouts with five walks.

 

Marist freshman left hander Stephen Peterson (1-3, Danvers, Mass.) Stephen Peterson suffered the loss, lasting 3.2 innings and allowing four earned runs on six hits to go with one walk.

 

The Red Foxes will be back in action Monday at 3 p.m. against Northeastern.
