WEST POINT, N.Y. - On a blustery day, the Marist men's and women's crews defeated Army by a count of 223-216 to retain the President's Cup. The Red Foxes took four of the day's seven races. "We like racing Army," Marist Director of Rowing Tom Sanford said. "They provide great competition."

Rowing against the tide, the Marist prevailed over Army in the women's varsity eight, 8:33.3 to 9:06.7. The Red Foxes also won the men's varsity eight, 7:07.2 to 7:25.0. Marist took the men's second varsity eight with a time of 7:02.5, besting Army's 7:20.8. The Red Foxes earned a victory in the women's novice four as well, as a time of 10:01.1 was better than the 10:18.3 of Army's "A" boat and the 10:35.1 of the Army "B" boat.

Army won the women's second varsity eight, 8:56.8 to 9:10.2 for the Red Foxes. In the men's novice eight, Army "A" finished in 7:10.6, Army "B" had a time of 7:18.1 and Marist was third at 7:47.7.
