EL PASO, TEXAS - The Marist volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to North Dakota State in the Red Foxes' second match of the day on Friday in the Sun Bowl Invitational. The Red Foxes fell by scores of 30-21, 30-20 and 30-25. Sophomore outside hitter Alexandra Schultze (Austin, Texas) led the Red Foxes with 11 kills, freshman libero Emily Brosky (Whitehall, Pa.) totaled 17 digs and freshman middle blocker Allie Burke (Alpharetta, Ga.) hit .375 with eight kills.
Sophomore setter Dawn Jan (Belleville, N.J.) finished with a match-high 32 assists and added seven digs.
For North Dakota State, Christy Stuewe led the way with 14 kills, six digs, five assists, four blocks and a hitting percentage of .444.
Earlier in the day, Marist had suffered a 3-0 loss to host Texas-El Paso. On Saturday, the Red Foxes will conclude play in the Sun Bowl Invitational with a noon EDT match against Texas Southern and a 7 p.m. EDT contest against Texas-Pan American.
