POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Despite a school-record 12 aces from freshman middle blocker Lindsey Schmid (Austin, Texas), the Marist volleyball team had its four-match winning streak snapped on Saturday night, as the Red Foxes suffered a 3-2 loss to Air Force in the "Volley In the Valley" Tournament. Air Force won by match scores of 31-29, 20-30, 29-31, 30-18, 10-15.

Sophomore setter Dawn Jan (Belleville, N.J.) had 41 assists for the Red Foxes, who fell to 4-3 on the season. Sophomore outside hitter Alexandra Schultze (Austin, Texas) led Marist with 14 kills, and freshman libero Emily Brosky (Whitehall, Pa.) hosted a team-high 15 digs.

Freshman outside hitter Joanna Foss (Northville, Mich.) finished with 13 kills and six digs, and freshman middle blocker Allie Burke (Alpharetta, Ga.) had 11 kills and five blocks.

Katie Batchelder led Air Force with 29 kills and 18 digs. Kim Kallabis added 41 assists as the Falcons improved to 4-2.

The Red Foxes finished play in the "Volley In the Valley" Tournament with a 2-1 record, having defeated Quinnipiac and Rutgers on Friday. Marist will return to action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match on Tuesday.
