WEST POINT, N.Y. - Freshman Steven Morales (Farmingdale, N.Y.) scored the first goal of his collegiate career in double overtime as the Marist men's soccer team recorded a 2-1 victory over Air Force in the Army Tournament on Friday. The victory was the first for first-year head coach Matt Viggiano.

Morales' game-winner came off a rebound, following an initial shot from senior Shareif Ali (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.). For the game, Marist held an 18-13 edge in shots.

Marist got on the scoreboard first late in the first half, as sophomore Matthew Boyd (Carle Place, N.Y.) headed in a ball sent into the box, with freshman Joe Touloumis (Cranford, N.J.) getting the assist at 42:45. However, Air Force answered early in the second half with a goal by Ian Houck at 51:38.

Red-shirt junior goalkeeper Daniel Owens (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) made five saves in goal in his first start of the season.
