HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Marist women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss at Colgate on Tuesday, as the Red Foxes fell to 2-2-1 on the season. The Red Foxes fell despite holding a 22-15 edge in shots in the contest.
Freshman goalkeeper Allison Lane (Marlton, N.J.) made four saves in goal for the Red Foxes. Marist's lone tally of the contest was an own goal at the 57:21 mark.
Colgate scored both of its goals in the first half, as Franny Iacuzzi scored on a rebound at the 29:23 mark to put the Raiders up 1-0. The second tally came from Jillian Arnault at 38:09. Both goals were unassisted.
Freshman Merrilynn Esteve (Morristown, N.J.) and sophomore Katie Zasly (Foster City, Calif.) led the Red Foxes with four shots apiece.
Colgate improved to 4-2-1 with the win. The Red Foxes will return to action on Sunday, with a noon contest at Seton Hall.
