STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Marist men's soccer team dropped a road non-conference match to Stony Brook 4-1 on Tuesday night. The Red Foxes are now 2-4-1 on the season.
Sophomore Corey Perkins (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) scored his second goal of the season in the 29th minute to tie the match at 1-1. Stony Brook would take the lead when Sebastian Villa headed in a service from Tamer Mohamed in the 38th minute. The Seawolves would add two more goals in the second half to seal the win.
Goalkeeper Daniel Owens (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) made 12 saves in the match, as Stony Brook outshot Marist 27-13. Shareif Ali (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) led the Red Foxes with four shots, and Tyler DeBari (Farmington, Conn.) added three.
Marist will be on the road Saturday afternoon to take on Albany. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
