POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist women's soccer team (2-10, 0-3 MAAC) suffered a 2-1 loss to Siena in its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference home opener on Friday afternoon at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field. The Red Foxes were unable to rebound from a 2-0 halftime deficit.
The Red Foxes' goal came in the opening stages of the second half. Senior Ashley Chase (Lumberton, N.J.) took the ball down the right sideline. When she got to the wing, she served a cross into the box that found the foot of freshman Sara Hijazi (Merrick, N.Y.). Hijazi put the ball past Siena goalkeeper Laura Ettinger.

The Red Foxes had a multiple chances to tie the match, but the cross bar got in the way on one occasion. Kathryn Hannis (Bloomsbury, N.J.) hit the pipe in the 77th minute.
