Final Stats
NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Marist women's soccer team played their final non-conference game on Sunday afternoon at Columbia. The 9-2-2 Lions defeated the Red Foxes 6-1, behind five second half goals.
Marist picked up their lone goal in the 80th minute when freshman Kristine Horowitz (Evanston, Ill.), scored on a diving shot from the top of the box. The goal was her first of the season.
Defensively, Marist goalkeeper junior Anna Case (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) started her second consecutive game and made six saves before she was relieved of her duties by senior Caitlin Nazarechuk (Ringwood, N.J.) in the 74th minute.
The Red Foxes totaled eight shots on goal including three from sophomore Kassandra Palmer (Washington, N.J.).
Marist will return to action Friday night, when they resume Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play against the Fairfield Stags (10-3-2, 3-1 MAAC). Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field.
