NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - The Marist Red Foxes (2-9, 0-2 MAAC) women's soccer team completed a road trip in western New York. On Sunday, the squad fell to Niagara (8-3-1, 1-1 MAAC), 3-0.
The Purple Eagles scored two goals in a span of five minutes in the first half to jump out to an early lead. Anna Case (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) was in goal for the Red Foxes. She made six saves. Niagara would add an insurance goal in the 69th minute off the foot of Kathryn Potter.
Offensively for Marist, they attempted nine shots, and put four on goal. Sophomore Lauren Tillotson (Islip, N.Y.), junior Mallory Inglese (Levittown, N.Y.), sophomore Kassandra Palmer (Washington, N.J.), and sophomore Amy Tillotson (Islip, N.Y.) all took shots that were saved by Niagara goalkeeper Ashleigh Bowers.
The Red Foxes return to action on Friday, Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. when the team will kick-off a MAAC soccer doubleheader. The women's team will face Siena, while the men's team will face Manhattan at 7 p.m.
