The Broncs extended their lead to seven with a 6-2 run of their own to make the score 19-12. Following a Rider error, a Schaefer kill sparked a 5-0 run for Marist to make the score 19-18. The Red Foxes tied the set at 21-21 with a Foss kill, but Lindsay Brant put down a kill for the Broncs on the next point to give Rider a 22-21 lead. Rider would not give up the lead for the rest of the set, as an Alex Chapla service ace gave the Broncs a 25-22 win in the first set.

Marist (14-15, 9-7 MAAC) once again found itself behind early in the second set, trailing 9-3. The Red Foxes, however, came back and went on a 9-2 run, highlighted by four Schultze kills, to take a 12-11 lead. A Brant kill allowed Rider to tie the set at 12-12. After a Rider attack error, Foss tied the set at 24-24 with a kill. Marist then took the set 26-24 on a pair of Rider errors to even the match 1-1.

The Red Foxes controlled the third set early, going ahead 9-6. Rider came back to tie the set at 11-11, with the two teams trading points to get to 13-13. The Broncs took advantage of a pair of Marist miscues to go ahead 15-13. Marist then ran off three straight points to go ahead 16-15. The Red Foxes would not give up the lead as two Schaefer kills and a Schmid service ace wrapped up a 25-18 win.
