POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Marist women's tennis team dropped a dual-match to Colgate 4-3 on Saturday evening. Alexa Strange (Valencia, Calif.) had a strong night for the Red Foxes. The sophomore won in both singles and doubles.
Strange defeated Can Williams 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 in third singles. Emily Zampello (Kingwood, Texas) and Strange won their doubles match versus Williams and Sarah Bender 8-3. The Red Foxes dropped the other two doubles matches.
Mirelva Colon (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) beat Erin Fenn 6-4, 6-3 in fifth singles action, and Jeannie Lukin (Kinderhook, N.Y.) defeated Jackie Stimmell 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.
The loss drops Marist to 0-3 in dual-matches this year. They will return to action when they host Binghamton on February 24.
