POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's and women's cross country teams released their 2008 schedule on Friday. The Red Foxes will run in seven meets, including the Marist Season Opener at Bowdoin Park in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Sept. 5. Following the race, a picnic will be held to honor former women's cross country and track & field head coach Phil Kelly. Kelly retired on May 23 after 18 years of coaching at Marist.

Following the season opener, the Red Foxes will take part in the Iona College Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale, N.Y. on Sept. 20. Marist will return to Van Cortlandt Park on Friday, Oct. 3 for the Metropolitan Championships. On Oct. 18, the Red Foxes will run at the UAlbany Invitational. The 2008 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships will be held at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex on Nov. 1. The last time the championships were held there was in 2004, where the women's team won their third MAAC title while the men finished third.

The Marist cross country teams will close the season with two more meets at Van Cortlandt Park. The NCAA Regionals will take place on Nov. 15, with the IC4A/ECAC Championships being held one week later.
