Box Score

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Despite a 25-point, eight-rebound, four-assist effort from red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), the Marist men's basketball team suffered a 76-65 loss at Rider in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest on Sunday. The Red Foxes trailed by 18 at halftime and cut it to seven in the second half, but were unable to come any closer.

Schneider had game highs in both scoring and rebounding. He shot 7-for-12 from the field, 3-for-5 from three-point range and 8-for-9 from the free-throw line. Freshman guard R.J. Hall (Bloomfield, N.J.) added 11 points on 4-for-5 shooting in 21 minutes off the bench. Red-shirt senior guard Kaylen Gregory (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands) contributed eight points, three rebounds and three assists in 17 minutes off the bench.

Rider jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Gregory scored the first two Marist points 4:53 into the game. The Broncs jumped out to a 20-point lead in the first half before taking a 41-23 lead into the locker room. In the first half, Rider committed just one turnover while Marist shot just 32 percent (8-for-25) from the field.

Rider's largest lead in the second half was 20, which came at the 16:57 mark on a basket by Mike Ringgold. However, the Red Foxes started to chip away at the Broncs' lead, and used an 11-2 run to cut it to 10 with 10:21 remaining on a basket by sophomore forward Korey Bauer (Whitehall, Pa.) . For nearly eight more minutes, Rider kept the lead between eight and 13 until a three-point by Gregory cut the Broncs' lead to 70-63 with 2:24 left. After two free throws by Rider's Harris Mansell put the Broncs up 72-63, a basket by Marist red-shirt sophomore guard Dejuan Goodwin (Baltimore, Md.) brought the Red Foxes to within seven with 1:22 left, but Rider scored the game's last four points.

The Red Foxes shot 55.2 percent (16-for-29) from the field and 45.5 percent (5-for-11) from three-point range in the second half, but the Broncs shot 60 percent (12-for-20) from the field in the second half. The Broncs also shot 18-for-22 (.818) from the free-throw line for the game and committed just eight turnovers.

Four Broncs scored in double digits. Ringgold finished with 17 to go along with five rebounds and four steals. Harris Mansell, Justin Robinson and Ryan Thompson added 15, 12 and 11, respectively.

Marist fell to 6-10 overall and 2-2 in MAAC play. Rider is now 8-5 overall and 3-0 in the MAAC.

The Red Foxes will return to action on Friday, when they take on Manhattan in a MAAC contest at Draddy Gymnasium in Riverdale, N.Y. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
