POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Marist men's basketball team lost to Binghamton on Sunday, 70-52, in a non-conference contest at the McCann Center. Red-shirt junior guard Daye Kaba (Cergy, France) led the Red Foxes with 11 points, and also had six rebounds.

Binghamton shot .574 (27-for-47) from the field in the game, while the Red Foxes shot just .294 (20-for-68). The Bearcats outrebounded the Red Foxes by a 40-32 margin. Marist committed a season-low 10 turnovers while forcing 18.

A three-pointer by Kaba with 15:57 left in the first half gave the Red Foxes a 7-2 lead, which would be their largest of the game. With 8:33 remaining until halftime, a three-pointer by Binghamton's Greer Wright gave the Bearcats a 16-14 advantage, and they never surrendered the lead the rest of the way. Wright's three-pointer started Binghamton on a 17-3 run over the next 7:23, and the Bearcats took a 34-22 halftime lead.

With 16:55 to play, a three-pointer by sophomore guard R.J. Hall (Bloomfield, N.J.) capped a 7-0 run and brought the Red Foxes to within seven of the Bearcats at 36-29. However, Binghamton answered with an 11-3 spurt over the next 5:17 to take a 15-point lead.

Marist cut Binghamton's lead to six - the closest the game got in the second half - with 7:47 to play, when a basket by freshman guard Devin Price (Inglewood, Calif.) made the score 48-42. Binghamton answered by outscoring Marist 22-10 the rest of the way.

Kaba was Marist's lone scorer in double digits. Sophomore forward Korey Bauer (Whitehall, Pa.) grabbed a career-high nine rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive end.

Binghamton improved to 4-8; Marist fell to 0-8.

Marist will return to action on Tuesday, when the Red Foxes head back to the road to face Lehigh of the Patriot League. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
