POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's basketball team recorded a 57-35 victory over Hartford on Saturday on Senior Night at the McCann Center in an ESPNU BracketBusters contest. In the process, the Red Foxes set a program record, as the 35 points the Hawks scored marked the lowest Marist has ever given up to a Division I opponent.

Red-shirt sophomore guard R.J. Hall (Bloomfield, N.J.) gave the Red Foxes two scorers in double digits, as he came off the bench to add 10 in 19 minutes, including a pair of three-pointers.

With 10:05 left in the first half, a three-pointer by Hartford's Morgan Sabia gave the Hawks a 16-11 lead. However, the Red Foxes held the Hawks without a field goal the remainder of the first half as they took a 25-17 halftime lead. Marist's strong defense continued into the second half, as the Red Foxes' run totaled 18-1 over a span of 14:14 until the Hawks hit their next field goal with 15:50 remaining.

Marist never led by less than 10 in the second half, and outscored Hartford 32-18 in the second 20 minutes.

For the game, the Red Foxes held Hartford to 22.9 percent shooting while forcing 24 turnovers. Marist also held a 39-31 rebounding edge and drained 11 three-pointers.

Marist improved to 9-20; Hartford fell to 6-23.

The Red Foxes will return to action on Friday, when they resume Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Canisius. Tip-off from the Koessler Athletic Center in Buffalo is set for 7:30 p.m.
