WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Marist women's tennis team played their second consecutive match at the Litchberg Tennis Center at Army on Sunday morning against the host Black Knights. Freshmen Kayla O'Donovan (Lynbrook, N.Y.) both notched individual victories in a 5-2 team loss.

McCarthy got her win at first singles against Patricia Vollmer, in three sets. After McCarthy fell in the first set 3-6, she regained her focus and played a number of strong points as she took the final two sets 6-4, 10-6 to win the match. The final score was 3-6, 6-4, 10-6. With the win, she earned the first victory of her college career.

O'Donovan earned her win at fifth singles over Paige Ford in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. It was her first victory since October 4, and snapped a three-match losing streak.

The Red Foxes will return to action on March 26 when they travel to Hartford for a dual match with the Hawks. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
