NYIT fell to 11-20 with the loss.
The teams will continue their three-game series on Saturday, as the Red Foxes will head back to NYIT for a 1 p.m. start. Sophomore right-hander Kyle Putnam (New Windsor, N.Y.) is Marist's scheduled starter. Putnam is coming off a seven-inning complete game in his last start against Rider on April 11, as he earned his first collegiate victory. The teams will then wrap up the series on Sunday, with a single game at McCann Baseball Field slated for 1 p.m. Fans can follow all the action for both games on GoRedFoxes.com, as there will be a live blog of Saturday's game and an audio broadcast of Sunday's contest.
