The Red Foxes held a 12-8 lead midway through the opening set, but the Jaspers hung close and eventually tied up the score at 14-14. From there, Marist went on a 5-1 run to take a 19-15 lead which they would not relinquish en route to claiming the first set, 25-23.
In the second set, Marist held a 14-8 lead before the Jaspers mounted another comeback. With the score tied 19-19, a kill by Estes put Marist ahead by one. The Jaspers scored the next point to tie up the set at 20-20, but two Manhattan attack errors put Marist back on top as they went on to close out the second set victory, 25-21, and held a 2-0 lead in the match.
After winning the third set, Manhattan (10-11, 4-5 MAAC) held an 18-11 lead in the fourth game as it looked to force the match into a deciding fifth set. The Red Foxes closed out the match on a kill by Hill and two Manhattan errors to claim the 3-1 victory.
