BRONX, N.Y. - The Marist men's cross country team finished tenth overall at the Metropolitan Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday afternoon, finishing with 257 points. Competing with a young squad which consisted of six freshmen and two sophomores, Marist's top-five finishers placed within 34 seconds of each other.
Freshman Isaiah Miller (Middletown, N.Y.) was the top overall finisher for Marist, placing 55th overall with a time of 28:01.
Freshman Patrick Deedy (Concord, Mass.) and sophomore Will Schanz (Latham, N.Y.) rounded out the Red Foxes' top-75 finishers. Deedy crossed the finish line of the five-mile course in 28:13 while Schanz followed just behind him with a time of 28:25.
The men's cross country team will send a split squad to the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 16, with half of the team also scheduled to compete in the Penn State National Meet at 10 a.m. that day.
