POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Head Coach Erica Allenspach (Miamisburg, Ohio) chipped in 13 points and four assists.

Following the win, Giorgis said the student section chanting his name was nice and he knows he has good people around him.

"It was nice, the student body has always been great to us" Giorgis said. "I'm not a fool; I know I have great players and great assistants. Coach Gebbia and Coach Leger have been here a long time... I have good people around me and am thankful to them."

Yarde shot 6-for-14 from the field and 3-for-3 from the free throw line. Allenspach reached double figures for the first time in five games. She shot 4-for-9 from the field and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.

The Red Foxes opened the game on an 8-1 run over the first 2:41 of the contest. Senior Elise Caron (Quebec, Canada) opened the game with a three-pointer with the shot clock dwindling. After Chantell Alford split a pair of free throws, sophomore Kate Oliver (Sydney, Australia) and Yarde hit a jump shot and a triple respectively to cap the run.

Back-to-back three-pointers by Alex Young sparked a 15-2 run to give Boston University a 17-10 lead with 7:59 to play in the stanza. The run was capped with a Rashidat Agoboola layup.

An Oliver jumper tied the score at 17 with 6:04 to go in the half and an Allenspach layup at the 4:55 mark gave Marist a 21-20 advantage. The Red Foxes did not trail for the remainder of the game.

Marist (6-2) called a 30-second time out with 18 seconds remaining in the half. After the teams broke from their respective huddles, senior Emily Stallings (Newburgh, N.Y.) closed the half with her second three of the period to give Marist a five-point lead, 32-27.

Alford scored the first five points of the second half to level the score at 32 apiece with 18:59 to go. Following the pair of baskets by Alford, the Red Foxes used an 11-0 run over the next 1:50 to claim a 43-32 lead. During the run, the Red Foxes got buckets from Oliver and Yarde and three-pointers from Allenspach and Gang.

Boston University (3-8) closed the gap to five, 44-39, on a pair of Alford free throws with 13:04 to play. However, the Red Foxes opened a double digit lead, 51-40, on a Kristine Best (Commack, N.Y.) jump shot with 9:15 to go.

As a team the Red Foxes won the rebounding battle for the second straight game and improved to 6-0 this season when they hold the edge on the glass. Marist outrebounded Boston U. 41-28 and 14-6 on the offensive glass. Additionally, the Red Foxes' bench posted 23 points to the Terriers' seven.

Individually, Best matched a career-high with seven rebounds, and Stallings scored a season-high seven points of the bench to lead all reserves. Alford led all scorers with 21 points for the Terriers.

Marist will take to the road and begin a four-game road swing on Saturday, Dec. 18 when it begins the Duel in the Desert Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev. Marist will begin the three-game tournament against the University of Louisville. Tip-off with the Cardinals is slated for 4:30 p.m. ET.

Notes: Giorgis became the first coach in Marist women's basketball history to win 200 games... His all-time record stands at 200-64... Yarde netted her third career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds... Best equaled a career-high in rebounds with seven... Allenspach reached double figures in scoring for the first time since she scored 15 against Grambling on Nov. 13... Stallings' seven points was a season-high... Marist now stands at 4-3 vs. Boston University... The Red Foxes are 18-10 all-time against current members of the America East... Marist has won nine straight against members of the America East and has not lost to a conference member since the 2007-08 season.
