Junior forward Korey Bauer (Whitehall, Pa.) also had nine rebounds to go along with seven points.

The Purple Eagles had four scorers in double digits, as Demetrius Williamson (14 points), Tyrone Lewis (11) and Bilal Benn (10) all scored at least 10. Benn also hauled in a game-high 13 rebounds, and had three assists and three steals.

Niagara got off to a quick start, scoring the game's first five points and jumping out to a 20-5 lead on a dunk by Austin Cooley with 11:47 left in the first half. The Red Foxes then started to whittle away at the deficit, and with 3:50 remaining in the first half, a three-pointer by Rusin made the score 30-23 Niagara. However, the Purple Eagles closed out the half on a 7-2 run to take a 37-25 halftime lead.

With 11:22 left, a layup by Rusin brought Marist to within 11 at 51-40. Niagara responded by going on a 12-0 run over the next 4:35 to take a game-high lead of 23 points.

Marist outrebounded Niagara 41-37, but committed 17 turnovers as compared to just nine for the Purple Eagles. The Red Foxes shot just .315 (17-for-54) for the game.

Marist is now 1-25 overall and 1-15 in the MAAC; Niagara is 15-13 overall and 8-8 in conference play.
