BETHLEHEM, PA. - Freshman Kelsey Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) and sophomore Erin McCarthy (Salem, N.J.) notched wins at first and second singles, respectively for the Marist women's tennis team. As a team, the Red Foxes dropped a 5-2 decision on Saturday. It was Marist's first dual meet of the spring campaign.
Raynor earned her first dual meet victory over Julie Arthofer in three sets. The final set score was 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. McCarthy rounded out the singles wins for the Red Foxes at second singles with the quickest match of the day. She tallied a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Liz Piscitelli.
In doubles action, Raynor partnered with classmate Joana Sun (Gales Ferry, Conn.) to bring home a win at first doubles. The pair defeated Arthofer and Piscitelli 8-7 (7-5).
Marist will return to the courts on Saturday, Feb. 27, as it travels to Saint Peter's for a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference dual match. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
