STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Marist women's tennis team took to the road on Saturday as it traveled to Stony Brook for a dual match. The Red Foxes fell 7-0 in the match as the squad did not post a victory on the day.
Marist got close to a victory in its first doubles match. Freshmen Kelsey Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) and Joana Sun (Gales Ferry, Conn.) fell short to Paola Rodolifi and Prerana Appineni, 8-6.
In singles action, Sun was the most competitive for the Red Foxes. She fell in straight sets to Anna Pieschl at third singles, 7-6 (4), 6-1.
The women's tennis team will continue its five-match road trip on Tuesday, March 30 at Manhattan. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) match is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
