POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's basketball team dropped a tightly contested 66-59 game to Siena in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest at the McCann Center on Friday. Freshman forward Adam Kemp (Sherrill, N.Y.) notched his first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 13 rebounds in addition to three blocked shots.

Kemp was one of four Red Foxes to score in double digits. Sophomore guard Sam Prescott (Philadelphia, Pa.) led Marist with 15 points. Red-shirt sophomore swingman Dorvell Carter (Bronx, N.Y.) tied his career highs with 14 points and eight rebounds. Freshman swingman Jay Bowie (Tampa, Fla.) scored 12 points to go along with three rebounds and career highs of four steals and three blocked shots.

The final time Marist got the game to one came with 2:51 on a three-pointer by Prescott. However, Siena's Clarence Jackson answered with a three-pointer of his own on the ensuing possession with 2:27 left, and the Saints pulled away late by outscoring the Red Foxes 10-5 in the final two-and-a-half minutes.

Jackson, who was in his first game back after rebounding from an ankle injury, scored a game-high 19 in 26 minutes off the bench. He hit five three-pointers in seven attempts from deep. Senior center Ryan Rossiter had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and sophomore forward OD Anosike finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Marist shot just .397 (23-for-58) from the field, .217 (5-for-23) from three-point range and .533 (8-for-15) from the free-throw line. Siena shot .453 (24-for-53) from the field, .400 (6-for-15) from three-point range and .545 (12-for-22) from the free-throw line. Siena outrebounded Marist 40-35, but the Red Foxes had just 12 turnovers as compared to 14 for the Saints. Marist had just two turnovers in the second half.

Marist fell to 4-14 overall and 3-3 in the MAAC; Siena is now 6-10 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The Red Foxes will return to action on Sunday, when the face conference rival Iona in New Rochelle, N.Y. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
