NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The Marist College men's cross country team finished in a tie for eighth place out of 10 teams Saturday at the Ted Owens Invitational, hosted by Central Connecticut State University at Stanley Quarter Park.
Senior captain Thomas Lipari (Greenvale, N.Y.) led a partial squad of Red Foxes in the meet. Competing in his first meet of the season, Lipari was 19th overall covering the 5-mile course in 27:27.
Freshman Mohamed Eid (Ridgewood, N.J.) was the next Red Fox across the line, placing 37th in 28:08. Sophomore Nick Salek (Morris Plains, N.J.) junior Will Schanz (Latham, N.Y.) and freshman Rob Gorski (Goshen, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Red Foxes.
The men's cross country team will return to action on Friday at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.
