EDISON, N.J. - Freshman Kristen Traub (Wayne, N.J.) of the Marist women's indoor track & field team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field performer of the Week on Tuesday.
In Saturday's NYU Team Challenge, held at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City, Traub placed third in the mile in a time of 5:03.24 - the best in the MAAC this season. Her finish was the best of any Red Fox at the meet.
The weekly award is the first of Traub's career. She was named All-MAAC this past fall in cross country by virtue of her ninth-place finish in the conference championships. This is the first indoor track & field season Traub has participated in, as she played basketball in high school.
The Marist women's indoor track & field team will return to action on Friday at the Terrier Invitational in Boston.
