Red Foxes Open Season with Multiple School Records at Fastrack Season Opener

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Marist women's track and field team opened its 2025-26 indoor campaign in record-setting fashion on Friday at the Fastrack Season Opener, hosted at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Red Foxes delivered a dominant start highlighted by three school records, numerous personal bests, and event wins across sprints, mid-distance, and relays.

The meet set the tone early in the 60-meter dash invitational, where Gabrielle Bozeth exploded to a school-record 7.67, shattering the previous mark of 7.83. Madison Duffy followed in third with a 7.80, also breaking the former school standard. Marist placed five athletes in the top-20, showcasing unprecedented sprint depth.

Momentum carried into the 400 meters, where Julia Kropo ran a commanding wire-to-wire victory in 57.98, lowering the school record previously held since 2017. She was followed by another strong performance from Isabella Milojevic, who clocked a personal-best 58.75 for second place.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Madison LaCreta added the team's third school record of the day, running 9.00 to eclipse a mark that had stood since 2007.

The Red Foxes were equally strong in the middle distances. Julianna Mirabile won the 800 meters in 2:17.16, while Parker O'Brien opened her season with an impressive mile victory in 5:05.99. Kayla Hawkins placed third in a personal-best 5:09.43.

The day closed with a statement from the 4x400-meter relay, where the A-squad of Breelyn McNamara, Bozeth, Granados, and Kropo dominated in 3:55.12. The B-relay also impressed with a fifth-place 4:04.64.

In the field events, freshman Emma Murphy led Marist with an 11th-place finish in the long jump, while sophomore Olivia Rothstein placed inside the top 10 in the triple jump to round out a strong opening-day showing.

The Red Foxes return to action on January 9, when they participate in the TCNJ Invite.
