POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist women's basketball (7-4, 1-0 MAAC) earned its first home victory over a ranked opponent in program history on Saturday night. The Red Foxes defeated #20/19 Oklahoma, 76-69, to continue their six game winning streak.

Sophomore Sydney Coffey (Hopkins, Minn.) recorded a career-high 25 points. Seniors Leanne Ockenden (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Casey Dulin (Milford, Conn.) posted 17 points each. Dulin had a team-high seven rebounds and assists as well. Senior Emma O'Connor (Lynbrook, N.Y.) posted 15 points, six rebounds, and three steals.

Marist opened up the game on an 18-8 run to pull ahead by 10 with 13 minutes left in the first half, including six points from Dulin and five points from Coffey. Oklahoma began chipping away at the lead, going on a 13-0 run, unanswered for seven minutes by the Red Foxes. Coffey broke the silence with just under six minutes remaining in the half from the free-throw line. Aaryn Ellenberg drove to the hoop for the Sooners to make it 23-19 with five minutes to go.

Two sets of made free-throws by Dulin followed by a three from O'Connor gave Marist a 26-25 lead with two minutes to play in the first half; the first lead the Red Foxes had since the ten minute mark. Ockenden closed the half with a three from the outside to give Marist a 29-27 advantage heading into the locker room.

The first 12 minutes of play in the second half saw 11 tied scores and almost thirty points from each team as the Sooners and Marist went bucket for bucket heading into the final eight minutes of play. All the points for Marist came from four Red Foxes: Coffey (11 points), Dulin (4 points), O'Connor (7 points), Ockenden (7 points).

With the game locked at 60 apiece, O'Connor hits a layup to bring Marist ahead, 62-60 with just over six minutes to play in regulation. Morgan Hook drops a layup for Oklahoma to tie it back up at 62 with just over five minutes to play. A Coffey layup, followed by two made free-throws gives the Red Foxes a 66-62 advantage heading into the final four minutes. The Sooners respond with a layup from Nicole Griffin and a perfect trip to the free-throw line by Gioya Carter to tie it back up at 66 with two and a half minutes to play. Back-to-back layups from Ockenden and Dulin pulls Marist ahead by four with 30 seconds to play. Oklahoma fouls Dulin and she hits both free-throws to take a 72-66 lead with 20 seconds left in the game The Sooners attempt redemption with a jumper from Aaryn Ellenberg but it was not enough as Coffey drives to the basket for a layup to pull ahead 74-68 with 10 seconds to play. T'ona Edwards goes 1-2 from the free-throw line to pull within five but Coffey goes 2-2 to secure the win for the Red Foxes. Marist defeats nationally ranked Oklahoma, 76-69.

Marist has next week off for the holidays and returns to competition on Tuesday, Dec. 31 against Canisius. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. at McCann Arena. Tickets can be purchased online at GoRedFoxes.com.
