POUGHKEEPSIE -- Five Marist men's basketball players scored in double digits as the Red Foxes earned a 103-72 victory over Quinnipiac on Senior Day in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at McCann Arena on Sunday.

With the win, Marist (12-18 overall, 9-11 MAAC) locked up the sixth seed in next week's MAAC Championships. The Red Foxes will open tournament play against 11th-seeded Niagara at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass., on Thursday at 9 p.m.

Senior forward Jay Bowie (Tampa, Fla.) led the Red Foxes with 23 points, including six three-pointers. Junior swingman Chavaughn Lewis (Queens, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 20 in 24 minutes on 8-for-13 shooting. Red-shirt freshman guard Khallid Hart (Newark, Del.) shot 6-for-8 from the field en route to 15 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals. Hart did not commit a turnover in 37 minutes. Senior center Adam Kemp (Sherrill, N.Y.) and junior guard T.J. Curry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each had 12.  Kemp had a team-high eight reboounds and three blocked shots.

A pair of Marist seniors - Pieter Prinsloo (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Patrick Ramsey (Easthampton, Mass.) - started and scored career highs. Prinsloo tallied nine in 20 minutes, and Ramsey had five in seven minutes of action.

Marist set season highs for points scored, field goals made, field goal percentage and assists while tying its high for three-pointers made, and setting a season best for fewest turnovers. Marist scored 61 points in the second half to reach the century mark for the first time since a 112-74 win against VMI on Feb. 23, 2013.

Quinnipiac reeled off a 5-2 lead two minute into the contest, but Marist answered with seven straight points to take the lead for good. The stretch included a three-pointer and jumper by Ramsey on consecutive possessions.

Marist later added a 14-0 run in the first half to lead by as much as 15 before taking a 42-33 lead into the locker room. A three-pointer by Bowie at the 18:26 mark gave Marist a 45-33 lead, and the Red Foxes led by double digits the rest of the way. In the second half, Marist drained 10 three-pointers and was 11-for-11 from the free-throw line.

Quinnipiac's Zaid Hearst led all scorers with 25, and Ousmane Drame added 21. Evan Conti had a game-high 10 rebounds for the Bobcats, who concluded the regular season at 19-10 overall and 14-6 in the MAAC. Quinnipiac will be the third seed in the MAAC Tournament, and will face the winner of the Marist-Niagara game in quarterfinal action on Saturday at 9 p.m.

The sixth seed is the highest Marist has had in a MAAC Tournament since 2008, when the Red Foxes were also the sixth seed. This season also marks the Red Foxes' highest conference win total since 2008.
