Marist, the second seed, earned a 87-65 win over 10th-seeded Siena on Friday night. Sophomore Madeline Blais led Marist with 16 points, and did not miss a shot, going 4-for-4 from the field, 2-for-2 on threes, and 6-for-6 from the line. Sophomore Sydney Coffey added 15 points, five assists, three steals and two rebounds. Senior Leanne Ockenden added 14 points on 5-for-5 shooting from the field and a 4-for-4 performance from three-point range. Marist shot .563 from the field, and had 22 assists on 27 field goals.
Rider, the sixth seed, defeated third-seeded Fairfield 63-56. The Broncs were led by MyNeshia McKenzie's 28 points and 16 rebounds. This is the first time the Broncs have reached the semifinal round in their 16 years in the conference.
With a win, Marist will advance to its 11th straight championship game. The Red Foxes are seeking their ninth straight MAAC championship, and 10th in program history.
