Last season, the Marist football team won a share of the PFL championship for the first time. With an 8-3 overall record, Marist achieved its highest win total in its 36 years as a varsity program. For the first time, the Red Foxes had major award winners in the Pioneer Football League, as defensive end Terrence Fede was named PFL Defensive Player of the Year, and Jim Parady was honored as Coach of the Year.

Both were finalists for major awards in the Football Championship Subdivision, with Fede being nominated for the Buck Buchanan Award, and Parady being in the running for the Eddie Robinson Award. Fede was named an All-American by five separate outlets. The Red Foxes are entering their sixth year as a member of the PFL in 2014.
