BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania – The Marist College men's cross country team used a very tight pack of finishers to place 11th out of 39 teams in the Brown Division at the Paul Short Run, held Friday afternoon at a windy and rainy Lehigh University. The Red Foxes' scoring pack (first five runners) crossed the line within eight seconds of each other.
Junior captain Spencer Johnson led the way with a 57th place finish in 25:39. Sophomore Dietrich Mosel (25:41), junior Brian Edsall (25:42) and freshmen Palmer Weimann (25:47) and Matt Baffuto (25:47) followed in rapid succession. In all, the 10 Marist finishers in the Brown Division crossed the line within 49 seconds of each other.
The cross country team returns to action on Friday at the Metropolitan Championships, held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
