POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Nearly everyone on the Marist volleyball team's roster saw action in a 3-0 sweep of Saint Peter's on Oct. 24 in McCann Arena. The Red Foxes improved to 14-8 overall, including 7-4 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings.

Marist took the opening set 25-15, then won the next two 25-17 each. Junior Lexi Millington recorded match highs with 14 digs and six service aces. Classmate Amanda Schlegel posted a double-double with 19 assists and 10 digs in the Red Foxes' victory.

Four service aces from Millington helped the Red Foxes jump out to a 14-8 lead in the first set. After going 13-for-15 in sideout, Marist was well on its way to a 10-point win in the frame.

The Red Foxes carried over momentum into the next set with a 8-2 scoring spree highlighted by four kills from freshman Mackenzie O'Brien. O'Brien finished the afternoon slamming a career-high 12 kills alongside a pair of service aces. 

Saint Peter's forced a Marist timeout in the final frame when it pulled within three points. Seven of the last nine points went to the Red Foxes with the help of three attack errors from Saint Peter's however.

As a team, Marist owned a 44-22 advantage in kills and had 10 service aces to the Peacocks' three.   

The Red Foxes will host Rider, the top team in the MAAC this season, at 1 p.m. Oct. 25 in McCann Arena. The match will be streamed live on the Red Fox Network.
