BRONX, New York – The Marist men's cross country team finished sixth out of nine teams at the NYC Metropolitan Championships held at Van Cotrlandt Park in the Bronx, Friday afternoon. The Red Foxes recorded a 9-18-26-28-39 (43)(48) scoring order and a total team score of 120.
Spencer Johnson and Brian Edsall placed in the top 20 of the event earning medalist honors for the Red Foxes. Johnson placed ninth with a time of 26:59.6 while Edsall finished 19th with a time of 27:22.9.
Finishing behind Johnson and Edsall was Dietrich Mosel at 27:40.6, Stefan Morton (27:42.6), Saad Baig (27:58.7), Omar Perez (28:22.5), Michael Kennedy (28:37.1), Eamonn Beers (28:47.2), Patrick Hickey (28:55.5), Patrick Ginty (29:01.6), Brian Henderson (29:14.4), Will Duggan (29:18.1), Daniel Hillman (29:19.3), and Domenic Fortino (29:21.8).
Fordham took first place in the event with a team score of 27, NYU followed with a score of 71, and Rutgers placed third with 89 team points. Manhattan, Columbia, Seton Hall, Farleigh Dickinson, and LIU Post also had runners in the event.
The Red Foxes head to Princeton, New Jersey next week for the Albany Invitaional. The one day meet takes place on Saturday, October 17th.
