BOSTON, MA -- It was a 20th place (579 points) finish for the Marist women's cross country team in the 2015 NCAA Northeast Regional Cross Country Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, MA on Friday, Nov. 13th. The result marked a one place improvement for the Red Foxes over their 21st place result in 2014, despite losing their leading runner, Kristen Traub, to an ankle/calf injury in the final kilometer of friday's race.
Sophomore Mara Schiffhauer was the top Marist finisher and 68th overall in the 6,000 meter race, with a final time of 22:13.9. Elizabeth Wasserman took second place on the team and 90th overall, with a 22:29.3 time, while Nicki Nesi placed third on the Red Foxes and 109th with a final time of 22:41.9.
Marist still has one more race in the 2015 season, the ECAC Championships on Saturday, Nov. 21 in Bronx, NY.
