POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - In their final game of 2015, the Marist women's basketball team fell to Princeton, 77-44, Tuesday night in McCann Arena. The Red Foxes are now 3-9 overall and restart Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play with a 2-0 mark.   

Senior center Tori Jarosz posted 15 points and four rebounds and swatted a game-high four blocks. Senior guard Sydney Coffey added seven points, two assists, and a pair of steals in the loss.

Princeton (10-3) would end the first quarter on a 7-0 run to take a 24-10 lead into the second. Marist fought back in the second quarter, scoring 15 to the Tigers' 17 points, but the Red Foxes ended the half 0-for-4 and 1-for-7 from the field to head into the locker room trailing Princeton, 41-25. 

The Tigers continued to pull away in the second half despite three points, two rebounds and two assists off the bench from freshman Rebecka Garderyd.   

The Red Foxes went 15-for-19 from the free throw line field and 12-for-48 (25 percent) from the field overall. On the defensive end they forced 19 turnovers but turned it over 17 times themselves. Marist connected on just five of its 26 attempts from three-point land and relinquished 24 offensive rebounds. Princeton as a team held the rebounding advantage 54-24 overall and outscored Marist in the paint 36-14.

Marist will face Rider first as the team begins conference play for the remainder of the regular season. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, January 3rd in McCann Arena.
