POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's basketball team defeated Saint Peter's, 69-67, on senior night in the final home game of the season. 

Sophomore guard Khallid Hart's (Newark, Del.) acrobatic layup with 1.5 seconds left in the game secured the win for the Red Foxes.  

Senior guard/forward Chavaughn Lewis (Queens, N.Y.) led the Red Foxes with 25 points. He had a team-high six assists and stole the ball one time.

Senior guard T.J. Curry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 13 points, two steals and one assist for the Red Foxes. Hart contributed 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting.

Desi Washington led the Peacocks with 20 points alongside three assists and one steal. Washington scored the last eight points for Saint Peter's. Marvin Dominique added 14 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. 

Marist scored the game's first 11 points off three three-pointers from seniors Lewis, Thomas and Curry. The Red Foxes later went on a 9-2 run to take a 43-25 lead into the locker room.

Starting at 15:51 in the second half, the Peacocks went on a 13-3 run to pull within seven points with 8:38 left in the game. A free-throw by freshman guard K.J. Lee (Huntington Station, N.Y.), and a layup and free-throw by Lewis extended the Marist lead to 11 with 6:04 remaining.

Saint Peter's went on 13-4 run to bring the deficit to just one point with 56 seconds left in the game. After some back and forth free-throw shooting, Hart sealed the win with a layup in the waining seconds of the game.

Saint Peter's was held to 9-for-30 (.300) shooting from the field in the first half, and was 2-for-10 (.200) from beyond the arc. In the second half, the Peacocks shot 16-for-30 (.533) from the field, and 2-for-6 (.333) from three-point range.

Marist shot 22-for-44 (.523) from the field, 10-for-21 (.476) from three-point range and 13-for-18 (.722) from the charity stripe. 

Marist is now 6-23 overall and 5-14 in the MAAC. Saint Peter's is 13-17 overall and 7-12 in the MAAC.

Up next the Red Foxes travel to Lawrenceville, N.J. to take on Rider in the final game of the regular season. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 on Sunday, March 1. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
