BURLINGTON, Vermont – The Marist women's soccer team and the Vermont Catamounts played to a scoreless draw Tuesday afternoon at Virtue Field.  The tie is the Red Foxes first of the season, last time the team made it to overtime they scored just three minutes into the session to come away with their first victory of the year.

The Red Foxes best chance came with 30 minutes left in regulation, the shot was only stopped by the post and kept the game at a scoreless tie.

Makala Foley made her return in net and finished the game with six saves, including a game saving stop from just inside the penalty box with just under five minutes remaining in overtime and another save from in close just moments later.

The Catamounts finished the game with 21 shots while Marist had 13 shots, each team had seven shots on goal. The Red Foxes move to 1-5-1 on the season, Vermont stands at 2-4-1 overall.

The Red Foxes start up Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on Saturday, September 19 as they take on the Monmouth Hawks at 7 p.m. in West Long Branch, New Jersey.
