NEW BRITAIN, Connecticut – Sophomore Steven Morrison's seventh-place finish paced the Marist College men's cross country team to a third-place team showing out of 10 teams at the 13th annual Ted Owen Invitational, hosted by Central Connecticut State University Saturday morning at Stanley Quarter Park. Morrison completed the 5.1-mile course in 27:06.4, leading a partial squad of young Red Foxes – out of 12 finishers, six were freshmen and four were sophomores for Marist.
Sophomore Patrick Ginty also cracked the top 10, placing 10th in 27:21.1. Junior Jake Hensler (13th, 27:36.5), sophomore Patrick Hickey (17th, 27:52.3) and freshman Domenic Fortino (27th, 28:13.8) rounded out the scoring pack. The Red Foxes had 69 points and placed third, trailing only host CCSU (32) and Hartford (55).
The Red Foxes return to action on Friday at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.
