Marist took an early 6-4 lead into the first media timeout and then used a 5-0 run coming out of the huddle to extend the lead. Niagara broke the run with a layup down low but a deep three from Clement pushed the lead back to 16-6 in the Red Foxes favor. The Red Foxes headed to the second quarter with a 16-8 lead, led by six points each from Clement and Jarosz.

Clement continued her hot shooting in the second quarter, knocking down her first two jumpers, propelling the Red Foxes to 24-10 lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the half. As a team the Red Foxes forced 12 turnovers in the first half and led from wire-to-wire.

Back-to-back threes from Niagara's Tiffany Corselli started the Purple Eagles out on the right track in the new half and cut the Red Foxes lead down to eight. The teams traded baskets and a three from Clement, her third of the game, pushed the Marist lead back up to double digits with 4:47 remaining in the quarter.

Niagara opened the final period with the quarter's first six points capped by a three from the Purple Eagles Emily Granruth that cut the Red Foxes lead back down to eight and forced a Marist timeout with 7:39 to go in the fourth quarter. Some good ball movement and a lay-in from Jarosz put Marist back up double digits.

Another stop for Marist followed by a corner three from Sydney Coffey extended the lead to 13. Overall the Red Foxes used an 8-0 run spanning the two minutes after the called timeout to push the lead back to a more comfortable, 56-40 with 5:15 to go.
