HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Marist women's soccer team were downed by the Quinnipiac Bobcats, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action. With the loss the Red Foxes drop to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play. Quinnipiac improves to 6-4-1 and 2-2 in MAAC action.
Carly Glaser put Quinnipiac on the board just two minutes before halftime to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room. Just 57 seconds into the new half, Quinnipiac's Jesse Fontaine scored the second goal of the match, giving the Bobcats a commanding 2-0 lead.
At the 69 minute mark Fontaine scored again to give the Bobcats a 3-0 lead, thwarting any ideas of a Marist comeback.
Makala Foley made six saves in goal for Marist while Tori Bradley led the Foxes in shots with two. Overall the Bobcats outshot Marist 15-7, 9-3 in shots on goal. Quinnipiac's Olivia Myszewksi had three saves in net for Quinnipiac and earned the shutout.
Marist continues on the road in MAAC play as they take on the Iona Gaels Wednesday, October 5th in New Rochelle, New York. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
