PRINCETON, New Jersey -- It was a strong performance for the men's cross country team at the Princeton and Albany Invitationals. On a day when the team split up into two groups for the separate meets, the Red Foxes took ninth place out of a total of 24 teams in New Jersey and fourth out of a total of nine teams in Albany.
A total of 226 runners made up the field in Princeton and Marist had all 11 runners finish in the top 124 with Matt Baffuto finishing first for the Red Foxes in 46th place with an overall time of 24:57. Saad Baig in 58th place with a time of 25:08, Stefan Morton in 72nd place with a time of 25:15, Steven Rizzo in 75th place with a time of 25:15 and Dietrich Mosel in 75th with a time of 25:18 rounded our the top five for Marist.
In Albany, the race featured 90 total runners with Marist having five finish in the top 32 and 10 finish in the top 50. Alex Hogue was the top finisher for the Red Foxes, placing ninth overall with a time of 25:34. Brian Edsall placed 25th with a time of 26:16, Chris Rivas finished 26th with a time of 26:18, Zach Ropes finished 28th with a time of 26:23 and Matt Adolph finished 32nd with a time of 26:28 to round out the top 5.
Up next, the Red Foxes have a week off before they head to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29th.
