LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey – Brianna Robinson scored the golden goal a minute into the first overtime as Marist women's soccer defeated the Rider Broncs 1-0 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships first round. With the win the Red Foxes move on to face first seeded Monmouth University on Friday, November 4th in West Long Branch, New Jersey.

In the 91st minute Danielle Glazer played a ball into the box that was tipped by the Rider goalkeeper and then deflected again by the Broncs defender, Robinson pounced on the opportunity and knocked it into goal sending Marist through to the next round. The game-winning goal was Robinson's second against Rider this season.

The scoreless game was dominated by Marist possession as the Red Foxes finished the game leading Rider in shots 14-6 and shots on goal 5-1. Corners were tied at 4-4 and Makala Foley earned the shutout for Marist with one save, controlling the box against all of the Rider threats.

The Red Foxes best chance of the first half came in the 23rd minute when Robinson's rocket shot from the top of the box was just tipped over the bar by the Rider keeper. Both teams entered the locker room with six shots a piece. The Red Foxes held the advantage in shots on goal 2-1.

Robinson also had the best chance for the Red Foxes in the second half as her shot from inside the box in the 78th minute was just parried away by the keeper and knocked back into play.

The win sends Marist to the MAAC semifinals for the first time since 2012 when the Red Foxes faced Loyola in Poughkeepsie, New York.
