POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist graduate Jason Myers, now in his second season as a placekicker for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, returned to campus of the Red Foxes' game against San Diego on Oct. 29.
The first 1,000 fans received a bobblehead of Myers, who kicked for the Red Foxes from 2009-12 and graduated in 2013. He holds Marist's program records for longest field goal and most career points by a kicker.
Myers flew to New York Friday evening from Jacksonville after the Jaguars had faced the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football last week. He participated in a media session and signed autographs prior to the game, tossed the coin, and also conducted interviews at halftime.
Myers signed with the Jaguars in March of 2015, and earned the team's placekicking job in August of last year. In his NFL career, he has converted 37 of 43 field goal attempts, and has 79 touchbacks on 116 kickoffs.
Along with defensive end Terrence Fede of the Miami Dolphins, Myers is one of two Marist graduates currently playing in the NFL.
The Red Fox Network sat down with Myers when he arrived on campus Saturday morning. Please click on the attached video for more on Myers' story.
